The Makerspace is Munich’s prototyping heaven right in the city center, offering access to laser cutters, 3D printers, a wood workshop, an electronics lab, and much more. At O’zapft is! – Makerspace Special, you’ll experience the Makerspace as a true hands-on hub and dive straight into the creative spirit of Oktoberfest.

And the best part? As a participant in the Start-up Launchpad, you’ll receive a free scholarship, giving you full access to all of these resources. To give you a first taste of what’s possible, we’ll guide you through creating your own Glupperl.

(Never heard of it? A Glupperl is a traditional Bavarian wooden clip, often decorated with names or symbols, and the perfect accessory for an authentic Wiesn outfit.) No need to worry if you’ve never worked in a workshop before—we’ll guide you step by step, and our trained coaches will take care of the machines.

On top of that, we’ve prepared a mini prototyping quest: in small teams, you’ll design and build quick prototypes inspired by fun Wiesn-themed challenges. Starting with simple materials like paper, cardboard, and other basics, we’ll guide you through the fundamentals of iterative prototyping—getting you ready to explore what’s possible with the machines at the Makerspace. Please note: to use the machines themselves, you’ll first need to complete the required safety courses. You can find all the details on the Makerspace website. And of course, snacks and drinks will keep the energy up along the way

So, what are you waiting for? Join us for a fun and interactive Prototyping Event, meet your future teammates, and start building strong teams for the Startup Launchpad—the place where you can bring your ideas to life. And after the workshop? We highly recommend heading over to the Wiesn—just 20 minutes away by public transport—to celebrate your creations in true Oktoberfest style!
